<p>HDD(Hard Disk Drive)를 대체해 컴퓨터의 운영체제(OS)와 데이터를 저장하는 보조기억장치로,&nbsp;<a href="https://bit.ly/3w3A620" data-type="URL" data-id="https://bit.ly/3w3A620" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">반도체</a>&nbsp;칩에 정보가 저장된다고 하여&nbsp;SSD로 불린다.</p>



<p>SSD는 모터와 같은 기계적인 장치없이&nbsp;<a href="https://bit.ly/3idyoY5" data-type="URL" data-id="https://bit.ly/3idyoY5" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">낸드&nbsp;플래시&nbsp;메모리</a>에 정보를 저장하기 때문에 빠른 속도와 높은 안정성을 가지고 있다.&nbsp;또한 발열,&nbsp;소음 및 전력소모가 적고 소형화,&nbsp;경량화 할 수 있다는 것이 장점이다.</p>



<p>SSD는 크게 데이터 저장용 메모리인 낸드 플래시(NAND Flash),&nbsp;인터페이스와 메모리 사이의 데이터 교환 작업을 제어하는 컨트롤러(Controller),&nbsp;외부 장치와 캐시메모리 역할을 하는&nbsp;<a href="https://bit.ly/3A47uZf" data-type="URL" data-id="https://bit.ly/3A47uZf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">DRAM</a>으로 구성된다.&nbsp;특히 낸드 플래시 메모리는 전원이 꺼지더라도 기록된 데이터가 사라지지 않는 비휘발성 메모리이기 때문에 데이터의 영속성을 보장한다.</p>



<p>최근 고성능 보급형&nbsp;SSD가 출시되면서 노트북이나 데스크탑&nbsp;PC에 사용되고 있으며,&nbsp;빅데이터 시대에 급증하는 데이터를 저장 및 관리하기 위한 데이터센터의 핵심 저장 장치로 이용되고 있다.</p>
