<p>삼성전자가 세계 최초로 &#8216;테라바이트(TB) 모바일 메모리(eUFS, embedded Universal Flash Storage) 시장을 엽니다.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">스마트폰 내장메모리 테라바이트 시대 열다</h2>

<p>삼성전자는 이달부터 업계에서 유일하게 1TB eUFS 2.1을 양산합니다. 삼성전자는 2015년 1월 모바일용 &#8216;128GB(기가바이트) eUFS 2.0&#8217; 양산으로 UFS 시장을 창출한 후 2016년 2월 &#8216;256GB eUFS 2.0&#8217;, 2017년 11월 &#8216;512GB eUFS 2.1&#8217;을 발표했고, 불과 1년만에 저장용량을 두배 늘려 테라바이트 시대를 열었습니다.</p>



<p>이 제품으로 소비자들은 스마트폰에 외장 메모리 카드를 추가하지 않아도 프리미엄 노트북 수준의 용량을 사용할 수 있게 되었습니다.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">차세대 모바일에 최적화된 &#8216;최대 용량·최고 성능&#8217; 솔루션 제공</h2>

<p>&#8216;1TB eUFS&#8217;는 업계 최고 속도의 5세대 512Gb(기가비트) V낸드를 16단 적층하고 고성능 컨트롤러를 탑재해 기존 제품과 동일한 크기에서 2배 많은 용량을 구현했습니다.</p>



<p>1TB는 플래그십 스마트폰에서 UHD(3840&#215;2160) 설정 모드로 10분동안 촬영한 동영상을 260개나 저장 가능한 대용량 메모리입니다.</p>

<p>속도 측면에서도 SATA SSD, 마이크로SD 대비는 물론 기존 512GB 제품보다 더 빨라졌습니다.</p>



<p>&#8216;1TB eUFS&#8217;의 임의 읽기·쓰기 속도는 기존 512GB eUFS 보다도 최대 38% 빠른 58,000·50,000 IOPS(Input/Output Operations Per Second) 를 구현했습니다.</p>

<p>SATA SSD 대비 연속 읽기 속도는 약 2배 빠른 초당 1,000메가바이트(MB/s)입니다.</p>



<p>소비자들이 스마트폰 용량 확대를 위해 주로 사용하는 마이크로SD보다는 10배 이상 빨라졌습니다. 스마트폰에 저장된 5GB FHD 영상을 NVMe SSD로 전송할 때 5초 정도밖에 걸리지 않습니다.</p>

<p>또한 임의 쓰기 속도도 마이크로SD카드(100 IOPS)보다 500배나 빨라 큰 데이터를 이용한 복잡한 작업을 더 빠르고 원활하게 처리할 수 있습니다.</p>



<p>멀티카메라를 활용해 초당 960프레임의 고해상도 슈퍼 슬로우 이미지를 연속 촬영하는 기능 등이 대표적입니다.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">‘19년 상반기, 평택에서 5세대 V낸드 양산 주력해 수요 증가에 대응</h2>

<p>삼성전자 메모리사업부 전략마케팅팀 최철 부사장은 &#8220;1TB eUFS는 차세대 모바일기기에서 프리미엄 노트북 수준의 사용자 편의성을 구현하는 차별화된 메모리 솔루션&#8221;이라며, &#8220;1TB eUFS의 안정적인 공급 체제 구축으로 글로벌 모바일 업체들이 차세대 모델을 적기에 출시할 수 있도록 함으로써 모바일 시장을 지속 성장시키는데 기여할 것&#8221;이라고 밝혔습니다.</p>



<p>삼성전자는 &#8217;19년 상반기에 풀가동중인 평택라인에서 5세대V낸드를 주력으로 양산하는 한편, 512Gb V낸드의 생산 비중을 빠르게 높여 eUFS 및 SSD 시장에서의 1TB 이상 초고용량 메모리 수요 증가에 적극 대응해 나갈 계획입니다.</p>
