<p>내일도 애쓰지를 이끄는 애쓰지단의 세 번째 미션, ‘우리에게 그냥 버려지는 폐기물이란 없다!’</p>



<p>오늘은 애쓰지단 신입단원 하규창 님이 자원순환센터의 장성민 선배와 함께 폐웨이퍼의 재활용 방법과 슬러지 재활용 업체를 알아보는 미션을 수행했는데요. 이 과정에서 폐웨이퍼의 재활용이 환경 보전에 큰 보탬이 되고 있다는 점을 깨닫게 되었다는 사실! 뿐만 아니라, 삼성전자 반도체 자원순환센터에서는 폐수처리 중에 생기는 침전물인 ‘슬러지’를 재활용할 수 있는 방안을 찾기 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다고 합니다.</p>

<p>조사에 따르면, 우리나라 폐기물 발생량은 매년 늘어나고 있으며 그 중 산업시설 주변에서 배출되는 폐기물이 높은 비율을 차지하고 있습니다. 폐기물의 양을 줄이기 위해서는 산업시설을 운영하는 주체들이 자체적으로 폐기물을 저감하고 재활용해 자원화함으로써, 매립을 줄여 나가는 노력이 필요함을 알 수 있습니다.</p>

<p>오늘날 우리 인류의 삶은 그 어느때보다도 편리하고 풍요롭습니다. 전날 밤에 주문한 물건을 다음날 택배로 받아보고, 먹고 싶은 음식은 앱으로 주문해 배달해 먹을 수 있죠. 하지만 이러한 편리함의 이면에, 우리 지구는 날로 늘어만 가는 쓰레기 속에서 점점 병들어 가고 있습니다. 이제 전 세계는 쓰레기의 절대량을 줄여 나가야만 하며, 또한 한 발 더 나아가 폐기물을 재사용할 수 있는 자원으로 순환하는 작업도 필요합니다.</p>



<p>고민 없이 버리면 쓰레기지만, 우리가 노력하면 가치 있는 자원이 될 수 있는 폐기물. 삼성전자 반도체는 이러한 자원순환의 물결에 어떻게 참여하고 있는지, 함께 알아볼까요?</p>
