<p>삼성전자 반도체는 2020년부터 수달을 모태로 한 ‘달수’ 캐릭터와 함께 해오고 있습니다. 달수 캐릭터는 ESG 웹툰, 친환경 이벤트 등 다양한 홍보 콘텐츠에 주인공으로 등장해 수생태계 보호와 수자원 절약을 포함한 삼성전자 반도체의 다양한 지속가능경영 활동을 널리 알리고 있습니다.</p>

<p>이러한 활동의 일환으로 2023년에는 ESG 이야기를 담은 특별한 애니메이션 시리즈 ‘둥둥, 오~~ 달수’를 유튜브에 방영해 오고 있는데요. 수달계의 인플루언서인 달수와 동물 친구들이 알려주는 쉽고 재미있는 ESG 이야기로 시청자들의 많은 공감을 얻고 있습니다. 엄청난 친화력을 자랑하는 ‘공듀(듀공)’, 오산천 생활에 적응해 나가는 작은 새 ‘삐삐(원앙)’와 경험 많은 ‘추 선생(미꾸라지)’, 그리고 만능 재주꾼이자 동네 전문가 ‘코땃쥐(검붉은코끼리땃쥐)’ 등 다양한 동물 캐릭터들이 등장해 이야기를 풍성하게 꾸려나가고 있습니다. 현재 5화까지 발행되어 온 ‘둥둥, 오~~ 달수’는 어떤 스토리로 전개되었는지 간단히 들여다볼까요?</p>

<p>‘둥둥, 오~~달수’는 달수가 쓰레기로 오염된 고향 하천을 떠나, 맑고 깨끗한 물이 있는 곳으로 이사하는 과정을 보여주며 시작됩니다. 이사 갈 곳을 찾던 달수는 마침내 삼성전자 반도체의 방류수를 바탕으로 수량과 수질이 크게 개선된 오산천을 새로운 보금자리로 결정하기에 이릅니다.</p>

<p>그렇게 오산천에 터를 잡게 된 달수는 우연히 동네 유명인사 ‘코땃쥐’를 만나게 되면서 다채로운 경험을 하게 됩니다. 미세먼지를 줄여주고 온실가스를 흡수하는 울창한 숲을 거닐기도 하고, 보금자리 근처에 나타난 괴물의 정체를 파헤치기 위해 물벼룩 강사의 강의를 함께 듣기도 하죠.</p>

<p>삼성전자 반도체 임직원들은 페트병을 포함해 사업장에서 배출되는 모든 생활 폐기물을 총 10가지로 분리해 배출하고 있습니다. 특히 재활용이 가능한 폐기물을 버릴 때는 비우고, 헹구고, 분리하고, 섞지 않기로 하는 ‘비.헹.분.섞’ 캠페인을 전개해 재활용률을 높이는 데 노력을 집중하고 있습니다. 페트병의 경우도 예외가 아닌데요, 삼성전자 반도체는 이렇게 모은 페트병들을 가지고 또 한 번의 의미 있는 자원 재활용 활동을 이어 나가고 있습니다. 폐 페트병에서 재생 섬유를 뽑아내, 삼성전자 반도체의 ESG 마스코트인 ‘달수’ 캐릭터 인형을 제작하는 것!<br></p>



<p>‘달수’ 캐릭터는 물을 좋아하는 귀여운 동물 수달을 모태로 하고 있는데요, 수달은 깨끗한 하천에서만 서식할 수 있어 주변 환경의 상태를 알려주는 지표종이기도 합니다. 달수는 삼성전자 반도체 사업장 인근의 오산천에 서식하고 있는 수달을 바탕으로 탄생했는데요. ESG 홍보대사로 활동 중인 달수를 업사이클링 인형으로 제작하게 되어 더욱 뜻깊은 프로젝트가 되었습니다.<br></p>
