<p><strong>다이오드</strong><br>[Diode]</p>



<p>저마늄이나 규소로 만들며 정류, 발광 특성 등을 지닌 반도체 소자.</p>



<p>최초의 다이오드는 진공관으로 만들어 졌으며, 반도체에서 다이오드는 p형 반도체와 n형 반도체를 접합하여 만든 pn 접합(pn Junction)에 바탕을 두고 있다.</p>



<p>pn 접합 다이오드에서 전류는 p형 반도체(anode)에서 n형 반도체(cathode)로 흐른다. 즉, 한쪽 방향으로는 쉽게 전자를 통과시키지만 다른 방향으로는 통과시키지 않는 특성, 즉 정류 작용을 가지고 있다.</p>



<p>다이오드에는 다양한 종류가 있는데, 빛을 발하는 발광 다이오드<a href="https://bit.ly/3vNZMjc" data-type="URL" data-id="https://bit.ly/3vNZMjc" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">(LED</a>), 일정 전압 이상이 되면 n형 반도체(cathode)에서 p형 반도체(anode)로 전류가 흐르는 정전압(제너) 다이오드 이외에도 스위칭 다이오드, 쇼트키 다이오드 등이 있다.</p>
